Custom Computer
Hey everyone,
I was looking to buy a new computer however i dont want name brand computers and I just want to either build it myself or customize it on the internet to my liking. Does anyone know the best sites with the best prices for buying computer parts and/or building your own computer? No name brand please.

As said before, Newegg is your friend.
Also, if you give a budget we're usually more than happy to help hunt down parts for you to build with usually when we're not too busy.

Newegg is awesome! However, if you are lazy, or just don't want to mess with it, Falcon Northwest builds some nice systems (price warning though ). Heck, I sometimes just go on there and pretend to build my dream machine. Oh yeah, here is the link Falcon Northwest Computer Systems, The Ultimate Gaming PCs.

well im looking at a computer that will cost $1,200 or less. Thing is I dont have all the money at once so I want to finance it, like pay $100 - $300 a month. Can newegg do that?

You can either get a credit card and make payments on it, or you can buy $100-$300 worth of parts at a time until you complete the machine (I'm sure not the answer you were hoping for).
I will second NewEgg as a great retailer to work with. I buy almost exclusively from them for computer hardware.
I see that you are located in Michigan. There is a Microcenter ( Micro Center | the center of .computer shopping) in Madison Heights. I've never purchased from them, but they are local.

Payment plans are usually only available on pre-built machine from companies unfortunately. You'll end up paying quite a bit more too for similar performance if that's what you want, but will be able to get it sooner and maybe able to score a 0% interest for a year.
However, you asked us not to suggest brands so I'll refrain myself.

Not sure why you are so set against pre-built computers...except for maybe the thrill of building the machine yourself... Personally, I've had a couple of Dell's as desktops in the past 5 years and they have been very solid and have benchmarked quite well against custom builds. It all depends upon what you need, it's hard to beat the price of some of the Dells if you need keyboard, monitor, mouse, computer and operating system.

Well the thing is, Dell is expensive. I made a computer on the internet (didnt buy it though) that has even better specs than a dell thats more expensive. Dell computers are extra $$$ thrown in the garbage when you can make your own yourself.
