You can find the results of how CS3 beta (as is the one linked to) here.
If you have a problem with it being a beta, you can find a bootcamp CS2 benchie vs. OSX here
There's only a few reasons why Mac is still in the industry. Apple Cinema displays are wonderfully affordable for S-IPS panels, users in the industry are still generally comfortable with Mac in comparison to Windows, Apple offers plenty of incentives to keep it that way, etc, etc.
If we're talking video editing, Mac all the way. Though, I'm not sure they'd be used for the final encoding . . .

they are also fast
and easy to use with a nice design

How so? Fast in . . . what exactly? You need to be more specific, blanket statements are misleading.

In your opinion. Personally, I don't care for the design and in terms of usability offer me no advantage due to my extensive understanding of Windows already. Plain and simple, there would be no reason for someone like me to switch.

Your digging your self a hole..
Being able to surf the web quickly is mostly down to how fast your internet connection, the speed of the computer would have little effect in todays day and age.

People really took that "toy" concept wrong. I understand that MAC's are the industry standard for some things. And for people in the industry and such, they are the better choice...even though they cost more.
For me, the mac would be a "toy", something to "fool around with". Because for me, I'm a Windows/Linux systems administrator and I make my living setting up, supporting and using PC's. Unfortunately, with MAC's being so expensive, it's been cost prohibitive for me to invest in one simply because I'd like to "fool around with one"...and for my basic needs...don't provide any tangible improvement over my Windows machine or my Linux machines.
Mac's certainly do have a bit of a "cool factor" or elitist user mentality. For some people, they just care about what it looks like, or what it says about them as a person. For me, I just want functionality and I want the lowest price for that functionality. Which means, Apple is clearly out. Less hardware choices, most cost, less upgradeability=no go for me.

The only thing which is "future proof" is DEATH. Did I mention, I absolutely hate the use of the term "future proof".

They both have their good and bad features that the other doesn't have.
