Question about a PC with Vista and a XP compatible printer.

There's a PC with Windows XP connected to shared Samsung printer, and a laptop running Vista that can't see the same printer..... any suggestions???

Click Start, Run, then type:

\\Xp_computer_name\shared_printer_name

press enter. See if that works.

Oh, and Windows Firewall is probably stopping it. Make sure you have the exception in for File and Print sharing or turn it off altogether.

My way just skips the browsing part. Sometimes in home networks browsing for a share doesn't work too well but you can get straight to it if you type it in. No idea why, it's just a Microsoft thing!
