I tried the one from the two links you gave me. It said that my current BIOS was the same or newer than the one I was trying to install. So it didn't do anything (unless I did something wrong  )
I'll try the power cycle thing the next time I shut the computer off (which is generally once a week or so  )

I can't test the software as I'm running linux.
you need to download both, install the Winflash utilitiy an the other link is the current latest BIOS.
There should be an option to specify that file to use to update the BIOS.
If you did that, then the machine has the current latest BIOS and you don't need to worry about it!
