You can make Ubuntu look and run like OSX...

Turn Your Ubuntu Hardy to Mac OSX Leopard - Make Tech Easier

That'll work for 9.04 too.
I've done Ubuntu, hate the fact everything has to be booted through Wine. My mums PC is pretty new, Lastest Dell Desktops, forgot to check is hers was SEE3 nbut it seemed to get further than my PC. Mine is a SEE3 too.

If it's new it's got SSE3.

What version of Mac OSX do you have, try and get the 10.5.5 media.

Sooo anyone here using the Windows7 RC? I just got it today and i have to say its pretty snappy. I noticed i used less CPU memory also after getting it and FPS is a little better when i play games (3-6frames), much better then vista in my opinion.

Yes, absolutely using it. I've found it snappier than Vista in about every aspect. Not to mention, it takes about 4GB less disk space when you install it. I just put together a new machine and bought Vista 64-bit Ultimate OEM with a free upgrade to Win7...and I'm not even going to bother installing Vista...I'm just going to use this RC1 release until Windows 7 is released in Oct.

No, I did not pre-order Windows 7. Instead, I bought an OEM license for Vista Ultimate 64-bit and that came with a free upgrade coupon to Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

A couple of things:

For those looking to install OSX on a PC: How to run Mac OS X on a generic PC ? Register Hardware - Seriously cool piece of hardware. Not cheap though. You should look at it Ifti....

Changing Windows 7 Control Panel back to normal: In the top right corner, there is :View By:" Change to Icon based, either large or small, and you'll get the classic Icon based control panel back. I've been scratching my head for weeks trying to figure it out!

Oh, figured out a cheap, legit way to get Windows 7, Office and Home Server. TechNet Subscription! $512AUD for 3 years, is a lot better than 2 x Windows 7 Home + 2 x Office 2007 + 1 x Home Server. PLUS you get upgrades for the term of the subscription, and I have a 25% discount code! I checked out the terms of the license agreement, you can install with the TechNet license keys on any devices you own. A real cheap way to do it!

Yeah, I suggested that to him. I ordered on of these on August 1st and I'm still waiting for it to arrive. The reseller never has them in stock, and then mine seems to have gotten lost in shipment. I'm supposed to have it tomorrow...they shipped me another one overnight. A friend of mine has one already and it works really good.

In the states, you can get Technet for $261 with the discount code for a year. I called MS on this and asked them about the "evaluation" nature of this subscription and they basically said that as long as you weren't sharing it with others and didn't run or support a business with the software that it was fine to use it on however many PC's you owned and you could use it indefinitely.

I just got my MSDN OS subscription at work....so, I'm set with every OS that I need to look at and test there. Unfortunately, according to MS, I'm not allowed to use those licenses for any home use. Oh well, I've already procured a legal upgrade license for Win7, and am attending the Detroit area launch party and get a legal copy for free from that.

I also found a great deal on Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student edition at NewEgg today. 3 retail copies, originally listed at $150, now on sale for $67.95 with free shipping.
