called back ms again talked to a tech who seemed a little bit more knowledgeable about the situation, but could'nt really help me. the way the console slowly started deteriorating made the tech think it was a hardware problem and not a software problem. that makes sense to me as it did not happen immediately after the update. but rather gradually began to take a dump. I did manage to talk to the tech's supervisor and got 25% knocked off the repair fee...soooo i guess i have no choice but to send her in. thanks for reading.
