360 will not stay connected to my westinghouse
i bought a 32" westinghouse widescreen lcd hdtv. i hooked up my 360 switched to the tv setting, then went to console settings changed it to 1080i. it worked and looked great. i shut the console down, then restarted it to make sure everything was good to go. everthing worked. but when i came back the next day and tried to turn on the 360 it would not work like the tv was'nt getting a signal. so i redid my previous steps and tried the setting at 720p. same results it simply wont stay connected

Make sure your cables are plugged in tight?

cables are good...it seems like either the tv is failing to recieve the signal from the 360, or the 360 is failing to send the signal to the tv

This seems to be a problem with the cheaper brands of tv. The xbox 360 does not send a sync signal with the component cables. My house brand hd plasma did the same thing. I bought the vga cable for the 360 and it fixed it. Plus you can set the resolution to 1366x768(Your lcd's native reolution) and get a sharper picture. Instead os scaling the 720p(1280*720) signal.

just went and bought the vga cables, now the 360 does not work through my tv or the computer. it sends no signal through the component cables or the vga cables. its gotta be the 360. man this sucks.
now that i think about it it acted funny on my last tv too, but i dont play it all that much. i think it has something to do with that update. the 360 cuts on, and if you put a game in you can hear it working. i can turn it on and off through the controller( i have to turn it off blindly).

after reading around i think it was the update, i dont get any freezing or red rings flashing, just the black screen. im positive it is the console, never had a single problem with it until after the update. a few days after the update it did freeze once, while playing madden (of all games), but i would cut it on and no screen would come up so i would disconnect all the wires, replug and then it was fine. caled ms and they said they would gladly fix it for $140. kind of unsettling to know everything cost exactly $140 to repair no matter what the problem, i guess thats what a refurbished console cost. i may get it fixed and sell this console as it is more of a problem than anything, and i cannot get help anywhere. i had not even thought of buying a ps3 until now, good going ms

I just wanted to add, I've been using a Westinghouse for a good while now. I also know other people that use them and I've heard and experienced nothing but good things. The 360 being 'too powerful for a Westinghouse' doesn't make sense. This isn't a common problem or I would have heard about it. Plus he said he tried it on both his TV and his monitor so he's correct in saying it must be a problem with the 360. Makes sense to me.
Plus the update has been brought up on this board more than once for breaking systems. How long have you had your 360? I was lucky and never had issues with mine, but there's always warranty's and service plans if you have them.. otherwise you can always try to talk your way into a freebie. My console is covered until late 2008.

i have only had the 360 since 8-18-06. just out of warranty. the lady at the overseas call center A.K.A. tech support knew less about the situation than i did. more than 30 min on the phone for nothing. i can say that the westinghouse ltv-32w6 is a great hdtv for the price. no complaints with the tv whatsoever, i would reccomend it to anyone. the 360 looked absolutely amazing in 1080i, when it was still sending a signal.
