Which TV to get for my XBox 360??!!
Hi all
My first post here so I hope I get a response!!
Anyway here goes....
I purchased my 360 a few weeks back and am currently working my way through Gears of War. Nevertheless, the TV I currently have my Xbox set up on is a Samsung 32" HD LCD TV. This is the main TV in my house so as you can imagine, my wife and I clash when I play games. I dont get more then an hour or so of play at the mo........
Hence I need a new TV to place upstairs in the spare room......
There are so many available right now, and I was wondering what you have and your experiences? My current setup using the Samsung LCD mentioned above is great, so I was considering the following:
Samsung 26" LE26R74BDX/XEU Freeview HD Ready Widescreen LCD TV (Black)
What do you think? I've made sure it has a good resolution and contrast ratio, and has 8ms response time. Woudl this be a wise investment for my 360??
To be honest my bank balance would prefer I went for a 23", but I think the extra couple of inches would make a difference.......what do you think??
Many thanks in advance for your comments.......

WELCOME
That's a very nice TV, wish I had one! I'm not sure about the size, how far away will you be sitting?

Thanks for your response.
I would probably only be sitting a few feet away from the TV - maybe 4 or 5 at the most.
I have narrowed down the selection to two TVs:
Samsung 23" LE23R71B X
http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/...k-21/ref=nosim
Samsung 26" LE26R72BDX
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-LE26.../dp/B000F4TC32
Ive used the above links from amazon so you can see the difference from a single website - I have found the items a bit cheaper elsewhere though. Both look the same, have 8ms response times, and both have the same resolution. The contrast ratio of the 26" is a little better I think.
The 26" also comes with freeview built in, which isnt a major want for me, but could come in useful now and again, though not vital.
The price difference between the two (where I could find them cheapest) is around 70 Pounds Sterling.
Do you think I would be better with the 23" since I will only be a few feet away? I could use the extra money saved to buy 2 games! But then again, I can only make this purchase once and no turning back!!
Your feedback is much appreciated.........

23" should be fine at that distance:

This graph shows the distance at which your vision will be saturated by the TV.

I don't think he was looking for a rocket science awnser that included tv viewing saturation, just keep it simple like this....
4"-6" of screen per foot of distance from the TV, example 10 feet away a 40-60 TV will do ya good

Hi again, and many thanks for your replies.
As the sales are due to start in a few days, I'll wait for then. I'll then look aqround to see what the prices are like, and whether the price difference is any smaller.
If not I think I'll go with the 23"
Thanks for all your help guys.
Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!!!! (Oh and happy gaming!!)

Hi.
Yes I think there is a Costco along the A406 on my way to work - I'll take a look there....
To be honest £622 is a bit too high for me, I was looking to spend around £400-500, and I can get the 26" for less then £480, and the 23" for £410.
I'll check Costco and hope for the best......
Failing that I'm hoping the Jan sales will push prices down a bit......
Thanks
