Component Vs VGA on a HDTV....
Hi all
Here we go, the age old question, but within a decisive thread, and with a decisive response.
So, for those who have tried both the component cable that comes with the XBox, and the VGA cable, please could we have your input, and if you have any experiences please post them here....
I want to see if VGA, in your opinion, is a lot better and worth getting over component. Does it get rid of the jaggies!! Does the gameplay look silky smooth, does the VGA cable use HD, and finally, is it worth getting!!
Thanks.

I'm not a video expert but it really all depends on what you prefer.. Its like comparing 720p vs 1080i.. I can't tell a difference between those two resolutions when playing my 360.. I got the VGA cables because I bring my 360 to work where we have a bunch of computer monitors which I use to play with my 360... I have the original component hooked up to my HDTV...

Do you notice a difference between the VGA and component between your HDTV and your monitor?

I haven't used the VGA cable on my HDTV.. I only use it when I bring my 360to work or when i play my 360 on my projector. I know there some people on this board who did a comparison and really couldn't tell a difference.. Its just really hard to tell a difference in one unless you have them setup side by side..

So what settings do you use on your HDTV?
Do you just flick the switch on the cable to HDTV, and set the display to either 720p or 1080i, and thats it?

Care to explain? Have you tried VGA also?
I hear it depends on your TV, and that its best to try both and see what you think?.........

i havent read any prior posts but...
i had component... looked good... nothing wrong
VGA provides a larger viewing area in a few games and you actually get a slight advantage... especially in GRAW... gave like an extra 1" view on each side
you can also upconvert movies, which makes them look MUCH better
i feel the picture is slightly better but nothing to go bonkers over
i just like all the other benefits,...
