I thought it was HD. At least on the back of the box it does say HDTV 480p/720p/1080i............

Sure the 360 will take the PGR3 and scale it to 720p or 1080i and output it...but the game is still rendered at below HD resolutions and so there's a noticeable difference in quality. Like jaggies as many notice.
At the same time, some older Samsungs had excessive jaggies via Component. Do you have a Samsung?

I have a samsung. I'm running the 360 through VGA though, did the jaggy problem only occur through component?

Yeah, only through component. If you're still seeing it with VGA, it's the game most likely.

ooooooooooo
I have a Samsung!!!!
I am also using component!!!!!
I have the VGA on order though - so basically for Samsung TV's its better to use a VGA cable (bearing in mind I only use the 360 for games...).
I bought a gold plated VGA cable via eBay, so just waiting for it to arrive. I hope it makes a difference!
Thanks

So do you notice many jaggies in PGR3 through your VGA connection?

I do, but far less than with component.
Even GOW had quite a few jaggies via component, that just aint right!

Cant wait to get my VGA cable now!
Less jaggies in PGR3 would be great, but if it makes GOW look better (which I thought looked brilliant anyway) then thats a massive bonus!!

ack, that's not good dude. Usually the ones that had jaggy problems with component look washed out with VGA!
