Display settings HELP!!!!
Ive spent ages messing about with my display settings and I still get the same.
I have a 26" HD LCD TV and am using the component cables that came with my Xbox. I have tried HD settings on 720p and 1080i and they seem the same - jaggies all over the cars in PGR3, etc. If I switch the cable over to TV rather then HDTV by flicking the switch, the graphics look exactly the same as when its on HDTV!! Surely there should be a major improvement on the HDTV setting??
Im considering a VGA cable instead to see if that improves things. Do you think it will? If I do, my HDTV resolution is 1366x768, what res should I set the Xbox to via VGA?
Thanks in advance for you help!!!

When you buy the VGA cable, go to the last tab in the dashboard (system) Look for (console settings) then select (display). Select any listed resolution they are listed in the following order. 640x480, 848x480, 1024x768, 1280x720, 1280x768, 1280x1024, 1360x768, 1920x1080. So if your TV supports 1080i or 720p then set the resolution to 1360x768 and have fun.
From personal experience the VGA cable does not improve the video signal enough to be noticed visually on any displays where there native resolution is 1360x768. Unless you run a 1080p TV, in that case your field-of-vision in some games is improved.

Thanks for the info mate.
Im hoping the VGA cable will make a difference on my TV. I just think its a bit strange how GoW looks beautiful, while PGR3 looks crap!
I also think its a bit weird how the image looks the same whether I flick the switch on the cable to TV or HDTV. If I try the yellow video cable alone for the image, its even worse, so component is making a big improvement, just not enough!!

Set it to HDTV and set the resolution 720p. btw, PGR3 naturally has a lot of jaggies so use another game to test...like GoW

I've had the same problem. I'm sure there's something wrong with me 360, I've tried 2 HDtvs and it looks poor on both, I've tried it on a couple of SDtvs and it looks better through composite!?

I thought PGR3 didnt have any jaggies? People reported on here before that the cars appear nice and smooth. I thought the graphics were meant to appear top notch?
GOW appears fine, Im quite happy with the quality on that.
I thought moving to HD would improve the quality of PGR3, at the moment it looks the same as it was on the first XBox!!!

I'm gonna swap my 360, even if there's no difference there's no harm done!

PGR3 is not HD...meaning its resolution is less than 1280x720(720p). In general lower res = more jaggies.
