The graphics card is confusing me, on some sites when I view the specs the dedicated video memory is listed as 256mb and some list it as 512mb, but both still have the card listed as the nVidia GeForce GO7600..
Also, the other thing I'm thinking about is the hard drive only being 5400RPM. I'm thinking this may be a bottleneck, am I right?

i guess they make the graphics cards in diff variants. and the rpm is ok. you could upgrade if you want. just depends on what you're going to be using it for i guess.

Anyone else have anything to add? I'm probably looking to buy this in the next day or two. I am looking at buying online as I think I can get it cheaper. The only other thing I want to ask is; I know it only has 1gb of ram and I would probably look at increasing this.. If I did, would it be much more expensive than upgrading ram in a regular desktop pc?

it's a pretty decent system imho but how much are they asking for it? I'll tell you whether you're getting fucked.

you can get ram a bit cheaper, but i would run two 512mb sticks for dual channel memory rather than a single gig stick. unless you do a lot of video editing and gfx work, you wont need much more than a gig of ram anyway.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am paying $1999 or $2189 with 2gig of ram, I think I will get the extra gig of ram as I do the occasional bit of video editing.

ASUS makes a quality product. A friend of mine just got the model with the GO7700 GPU with 512 mb memory. it sure looks sweet and I am an Alienware owner.
I would go 2gb ram, it makes things operate much more smoothly in the long run.
