Remember that with the Yellow, White and Red cables, the White and Red are simply left and right audio channels. All the video information is coming through on one cable - the Yellow. But with the RGB cables, the video signal is being split down three individual cables - which gives a lot better power signal to noise ratio, meaning much better picture quality!

Happy days!

Your making it sound like the cables have a color inside them and when you put the red in, you get better red. The colors just let you know where it should go. If they didnt have colors attached, it would be pretty much trying to connect a usb mouse into the speaker output.

It's not HD (unless it says it is). If it's an XD set, it's Extended Definition.. 480p rather than 480i.

There are "colors inside of the cables".. sort of.. component cables (at least the analog cables for the 360) seperate the red, green and blue.. the three colors used to create picture on a tv set.. then once at the set, the set will re-introduce them to each other, or "sync" them together, as needed to create a better quality picture than the standard composite (yellow cable) cable.
