well, you probably don't need 1080p at a size that small. I would recommend going for a westinghouse LTV-32w6, which I do own and love. It has a vga port that I use for the 360, a HDMI port, which I use for my ps3, 2 component inputs, one of which I use with my wii, 1(sadly) rca/s-video port which is being used by my dreamcast, and it has the standard rca out.
I got mine for about 750 and that was in october. Look now, and you could probably get it for around 600 or less.

I may be wrong, but I think 1080p is usually just for big tvs and I don't think you would be able to find a 1080p tv for a cheap price.

Please define what you consider to be cheap? A 1080p is likely going to be a minimum of about $2,000.

The only thing which is "future proof" is DEATH. Did I mention, I absolutely hate the use of the term "future proof".

1080p is overrated. A quality 720p display can easily look better than a cheaper 1080p...or even a quality 1080p display.
Colors, blacks level, and contrast ratio are all more important than display resolution.
How far back do you sit?
