I just purchased the Vizio 37" LCD HDTV at Costco for $899. The 32" is
$699. Just thought I'd let you know.

26" Sharp AQUOS LCDs are usually outsourced so I'ld go with the Samsung.
If you look at the list of flat panels, pretty much all of them below $1000 are LCDs

Yes you can find some of these for cheaper, but usually not from reputable retailers. Most will not be willing to buy a TV from a retailer they've never heard of or that doesn't have many reviews.

I'ld say Sharp is the second best behind Sony usually. However their 26" models aren't made by them! Same for Toshiba. Pisses me off that Sharp uses the AQUOS badge on a less than AQUOS quality LCD.
The 26" Samsung is better than the 26" Sharp. I'ld take a Sony or perhaps even an LG over it however

Death, Accessories4less has some surround sound for cheaper
HTS-590 $180
HTS-790 $330
However, they are refurb... but i have not had any problems with mine, and the website offers warranties, along with Onkyo's 1 year standard warranty
and perhaps have a budget section for lcd's, as many people seem to be asking about lcd's for cheap, and what brands are good

Thanks for all the info Death. I was looking at the CC ad just now and they have this Panasonic on sale for $299.99. Would you recommend it?

I'll just add them to the bottom of the HTIB list...they're good options if buying them new isn't possible

Wow I am really stuck between the pioneer elite and the panasonic plasma 42". Does costco or sams carry these? Should I wait for 1080p to go down in price?

The Pioneer Elite plasmas are absolutely beautiful. My favorite plasmas are Fujitsu...however I don't believe they're really worth the extra cost over the Pioneer Elites.
I've seen 1080p Pioneer Elite plasmas...wasn't worth the extra money either imo. The 720p look pretty much as good for thousands less. As long as your source is 1080p...it'll look extremely similar.
