hey death, I've started saving up for this HDTV lately:
http://www.learningcenter.sony.us/as...V:Choose:Lifes tyle:btnBravia
I'm not really sure its that one but there are only 3 types of Bravias and it wasn't the S or the XBR series so its got to be that one. I s there any possibility that theres a different series here in Namibia?
anyhow, even if its not that one, are they good, SONY BRAVIA hdtv's always looked really classy and quality-built to me. I won't really watch tele on them, mainly for XBOX 360 and my future PS3.
Answer me Deathwish, I just want your oppinion.

That's right, shit I'm sorry. I got busy and forgot to respond ^_^'
The source is the first determining factor of quality, but if the DAC itself sucks the sound will suck too. I don't know how the M-Audio would sound for you, may be worth looking for reviews on.

$100 is pretty tight and you're looking at mostly computer speakers

Sonys makes the best LCDs imo. Are plasmas not an option for you?

Well the Vizio is great for the money, but isn't going to have the same picture quality the Sony does. Generally if you know nothing about TVs but only know a few good brand names...you can't go too wrong by blindly buying one of the said brand names. Sony makes the best LCD and well all their TVs are solid.

Ok, I just bought a real nice Samsung upconverting DVD player. No HDTV yet but, it won't be too long. I haven't watched a video on it yet either. But, the guy said it will look better than regular DVD players. Is this true?

The difference you see is because less quality is loss when during scaling and deinterlacing.
DVDs are 480i, let's say your HDTV is 720p. So in order for the TV to display the 480i signal must be deinterlaced to 480p and then upscaled to 720p. A nice upconverting DVD player can usually do this better than your TV can and so it looks like you gained picture quality.
Also, how much was the Samsung? I generally only recommend OppoDigital DVD players as they are well priced and have some of the best picture qualitye

This is a digital cable you need that will give true 5.1 surround sound from your xbox.
