Pc surround sound for a tv?

Hello, i currently have a 5.1 surround sound set up on my pc, and i was wondering if there is any way i could use it on a tv?
It connects into the back of my pc tower through the audio jacks (the 3 coloured bits), but would these work in the tv? My xbox 360 connects into the red, white and yellow ports on the tv, but if my surround sound connected to my pc wouldnt it need these, as there wouldnt be anywhere else for it.
Thanks. I am guessing it wont work, but its worth a try at asking.

hello there...
When i had a logitech Z-5300 i had the saame problem. I found an adapter that worked. It uses a adapter that has one green female input for your computer speaker wire and on the other end you will have a white and red female input for you xbox 360 wires. You might have to go to your nearest electronic shop(radio shack, future shop, best buy, wall mart..) youll need to tell them and they should have an adapter for you. but as for the 5.1 goes i dont think it will be true 5.1 surround due to the adapter mixing the signal. But you will have all your speakers working for now. save up some money and when you go looking for a system make sure it has an optical input or the red, white, yellow inputs. also some things too look for on the box or wires if you want to spend that extra$: THX crtified, Dolby pro logic, dts. If theres anything else you want to know just message me and ill try my best in getting the information for you.

MuTe: here for the people.

Thanks mute. So this adapter plugs into the red, yellow, white sockets on the tv, then the xbox ones go into the adapter and so does one of the surround sound wires?
Also, would you be able to get a picture of the adapter so i can see what i'm looking for. Thanks.

if you plug it into the composite outputs (red+white+yellow) you wont get 5.1 surround because composite is strickly stereo. try to find a converter that converts it into a single coax digital or seperate 6 channels and then connect it into your AV reciever

@mute: dolby pro logic II is NOT 5.1 its 2.0 that sounds like surround.
thx is also unnecessary since thats like 14 channels. look for DD/DTS AV recievers that supports 5.1/6.1
