40 mins to convert Flushed Away on a C2D ?!
SUPER converts at least 4-5 times faster than that, and does it for many, many more formats and containers
SUPER is an all-in-one converter/codec bank

Ok, I'm proper lost. Now, it seems like everything has converted. No need to do that. Everything is playing in Windows Media Center no problem. WTF?!?! AHAHHA!! Vista kicks ass!

Yeah, DP who cares!!
If I can get an AVI to mysteriously play in my media center without converting it at all, once I get the 360 connected, will it stream?

You have to install Transcode360 in order to play AVI files straight through. Check out their website.

Nice Jimbo, I'll look into that.
I had TVersity for a bit on my old laptop but, it was laggy and choppy. I'm guessing it's due to the inferiorism of the computer. Plus, it seemed to take a lot of memory to run properly. Does Transcode run smoother?

Transcode runs MUCH better. Tversity changes the file to WMV on the fly, as it's streaming to the 360, whereas Transcode will convert to Mpeg instead. Both run fine on the 360, so there's no difference there. WMV takes much more work to create than a Mpeg.
Tversity will quite happily transcode a full HD movie to the 360 on a mid-range PC.

Aweoms guide, thanks a ton.
With my rig I can encode a direct DVD rip of mine to Mpeg-4 420p in 30 minutes.
EDIT:
As we speak I'm converting 4 movies, all started at the same time, takes a little around an hour all together going at once.
I love quad core

Check out the 360 Console section. There's a sticky in there about streaming. In there is a guide to setting up Orb.
But your issue seems to be based around codecs.
