You're missing the point, Thunderboltt.... No one has half a mil of equipment, but they're sayng that for $75 (the price of the cord) they will guarantee to replace EVERYTHING that is plugged into it. I probably have $5000 worth of equipment plugged into mine, and sleep easy knowing that if a surge DOES destroy eveything, then I get it all back for free.

Well no...a 20 GBP surge protector will most likely do nothing. They'll stop small surges, but a lightning strike nearby will go right through it. And yes, they do happen...one happened to me in July and fried my network card.

You need to use either a power/line conditioner or an uninterruptible power supply(UPS) to have any chance vs lightning
