Yeah, that wiring is awful! Spend some time strapping cables together in bunches and tucking them in gaps.

Places to hide wires in the Antec 900, above the DVD drive there is a little gap for any unused wires for the top USB, firewire, sound ports etc, and at the very bottom under the hard drive rack there is space, and also were ever you have the two 5 1/2 inch drive bay covers behind there...

The stock cooler comes with paste pre-applied, little hard block of it stuck on the cooler....running it with the stock cooler on wont damage it, it will run 30-47c with it on, max temp for the CPU is somewhere up in the 80s

but, then why is mine turning off after about 30 secs. i cant see what it says on the screen yet as i need to get a vga-dvi converter first. would it be not having enough power to run it maybe?

I've been told by someone on another forum that your setup would run on a decent quality 420W PSU, he knows his stuff and I'm inclined to believe him. I think your problem could be that that the HSF isn't pushed down onto the CPU properly. Someone on a forum I frequent had exactly the same problem; his PC was crashing at the post screen and that was the problem.

Also, make sure the mobo isn't shorting on the case, although it'd probably shut down quicker than 30 seconds, it's still possible.
