i was using the 8 pin. all standoffs were on and the mobo was screwed into each one. i think it might be a problem with the cpu fan as i cant unscrew one of the tightener things.

I doubt it, but you want the HDD set to master anyway when you get it sorted. Make sure it's in "S-ATA 1" and the jumpers are set to master.

Hey all-
Check the first pirst of this thread again. I posted my new pics of the rig on there with everything done, enjoy.
Some tips-
-For hard drives, if you have room, turn the hard drives around with the IDE and SATA connections facing the front of the case, as oppose to the back of the case. Run the wires behing the drive mounts.
-Use tie stripes liberally. Tie IDE cables and power cables together and to the case.
-Run the rear case fan power cable behind the motherboard and attach it to a 4-pin molex connecter from the power supply behind the hard dirves on the back of the case.
-Attach all case fans to 4-pic molex connectors as oppose to the motherboard fan power connecters. That way you can have the cables completely hidden.
Feel free to add any tips so people can check here to for ideas on how to tidey up their wires!
