My TV Stand. Will it live to fight another day?

You could just put it on a scale (like the kind you stand on) it you don't trust their weights. Just go to your local machine shop/ welding shop/ ask a buddy if you're in high school and get one welded up. 1" tube with four struts going down will hold 200 pounds no problem.

the capacity of anything retail is normally 2x what it says.

is it evenly distributed weight? I am sure the stand could hold the TV once in place, but it would be pretty fragile and a risk not worth taking to get it on the stand.

You can go to kmart, or walmart and get another one for less then $50 that will hold it.

u seem to have a good stand, its just not made for the job
