I'm not familiar with it. There are so many resolutions, I used to have a monitor that did 2048x1536 without any scaling.

Yeah I couldn't read anything lol, it was way too small even on a 24" monitor
What I can't wait for is the new 4k movie projectors(DLP theaters are 2k). They have a theater in Dallas that has halls using them.

Wow that is crazy. I have trouble seeing 1680 x 1080 on my 20 inch computer monitor that resolution is insane.

1680x1050 is probably my favorite resolution. Anything higher is too small for me on normal monitors. Perhaps 2048x1536 would work well with a projector

I use 1400x1050 on my Dell laptop with a 14.1" standard display. My company bought me a new Dell with a 14.1" widescreen display at 1280x800 and I gave it back. I was scrolling way too much up and down and hated it.

The only thing which is "future proof" is DEATH. Did I mention, I absolutely hate the use of the term "future proof".

If you get 2 of the worlds biggest HDTVs at about 100" and put together side by side playing the same thing, one at 720P and the other at 1080P then I bet you could tell the difference. On the plus side those screens would be so hot that they would warm you in winter but give you a really high power bill.
