Hey, I just saw a Pioneer Elite 720p plasma for $2300 today. Would you get that or a 1080p Panasonic plasma?

The Pioneer Elite without a doubt. The Panny is great...but it's no Pioneer. The Elite imo isn't in the same class as a Panny...it's in the class of Fujitsus and B&O displays

you're still on this crap? try hooking up to a pc yet? i think not, or you wouldn't believe that the eye can't tell the difference.
heck, it's probably tv's in general. the pixel pitch is large enough to where you couldn't see/notice a rez change. monitors for sure, though, can show a difference.

I have a CRT Monitor that can display 1080p and 720p natively. There's an obvious difference when I set my computer to 1920x1080 and 1280x720. I have never said there wasn't.
But for the billionth time, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm saying take two HDTVs that are identical in every way except resolution, like the 720p Marantz and 1080p Marantz used in this shootout, send them both a 1080p signal from a PC or other 1080p source and no one will see a difference.
