Never played with media center pc but I assume is just like a WinXP machine, can you use dvdshring to rip it? Getting the 360 to play it is another thing, maybe when the mod chips come out.

Im a bit of a quality freak and AVI, WMV etc are not DVD quality. In this day and age you should be able to rip a dvd to the hard disk and stream it to the 360.

It works fine through the media center PC but when played on the 360 Media Extender it says ' remote desktop cannot play this file or something or other'

Its obviously some sort of Microsoft lock down, but i dont see the difference between ripping an album and playing it thru the 360 and riping a dvd.

Microsoft need to pull their fingers out before I get a mac!!!!

You would think they would of allowed it seeing as the 360 plays dvds anyway. Should of had xvid/divx support too.
