360 and the hd setup

Well i got a couple of questions here about the 360 and my tv

1. I have a sony it's a 36" flat screen but it's square. In the back there are ports that say hd in/out and it has blue green and some other color i can't remmber. I was wondering if this tv was hd. Because when i plugged the hd cables in it started to get all shaky and stuff.

2. Am i doing something wrong.

Exclamation hd setup answered

first of all. determine whether or tv is hd. look in your owners manual. the "blue, green and red," is component video which makes me believe it is HD. if you have the HD cables for the 360 plug them in accordingly. if not you will have to buy some. as for the square. i prerfer widescreen 16:9 over traditional 4:3. you will have to set the 360's video output as well as screen resolution and audio capablilities. if you have a home theater there is a fiber optical port on the hd cables so you can listen to the 360 in dolby digital. the xbox 360 really does look better in "high-def"

Make sure that you have HD selected on the back of the XBOX and not the standard TV setting!!!!
