Streaming Media to the 360 with Zune 2 Software - Status Code 53-C00DF238
Hello everyone,
Here is a bit of a story for you to see if anyone else is having this problem
For quite sometime, I was streaming media to my 360 using the Zune 1 software with no problems. After a while, then everything seemed to slow down, but it would still work. What I mean is that the videos would take a long time to start, but they would eventually play.
For unrelated reasons, I formatted my PC(Vista Ultimate) and reinstalled the OS wand the new Zune 2. A number of things related to streaming content has stopped working.
First, The 360 cannot seem to find any .h264 videos like it could before. It can see the directory, but it says there are no files in the directory. With the other WMV files, It can see the files, but it may take a long time to load the file listing of the directory. When I click to play one of the WMV files, it usually says "Unplayable Content The connection to your computer was lost Status Code: 53-C00DF238" Other times it will play the video correctly. Even other times it will play video, then if I stop the video and restart it, the video will not play. Also, If I wait long enough with the Status code screen up, I may be able to go back, restart the video, and have it play. In fact it just did that as I am typing this.
So it seems to be an issue of something timing out. I think I can rule out my computer in this case because It has been doing this since the reformat. Some other things - It could be something with the network as there is a router and two swtiches in between the 360 and my computer, but this setup has not caused problems in the past. Also, I recently switched out the router and the issue still remains.
Also, with music it happens, but it is a little less severe as the files are usually smaller.
Any ideas would could be causing the problem?
