Cannot get 1080p with elite and sharp aquos

Hi all. I've combed through the archived and I may of missed it, but I didn't see anything that addressed my problem directly. For some reason I cannot get the 360 to output in 1080p. It's not available as one of my options on the systems tab, console setting, display tab options.

I have an elite 360, a sharp LC-46D62U (1080p capable), and I'm using HDMI cables.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you read what he said it clearly says he is using HDMI cables.

Have you tried component to see if it will work that way?

Simple fix

Go to consol settings

true but I didn't know if he was mis-naming it because it said hdmi cables. Considering hdmi is 1 cable, i thought maybe he was confusing the HD component cables that come with the xbox. I can clearly see you're a prick though.

Thanks for the responses. I'm aware only hdmi cable is necessary, however I'm also using a JVC RC-D702B as my receiver and hdmi switcher requiring me to use hdmi cables. Hope that clears up the confusion.

I already tried the HDTV settings. For some reason, the 1080p is there, but I can't select it. It's "greyed" out so to speak. The aquos is 1080p so I'm a little stumped.

As an aside after reading through the archives, I'm starting to have a little buyers remorse about LCD 1080p (and the cost associated with it) Plasma will be my next purchase most likely.

It is quite possible that your receiver does not support 1080p. Try hooking the 360 up directly

Something's not 1080p compatible. And you're using a 360 (1080p), by HDMI (1080p), and an Aquos that's [1080p] compatible. I'd say it's the receiver if you're using one.
