Image Persistance/Burn In
Someone told me that LCD tvs can get something called "image persistance" which is similar to burn in on plasma tv sets. Is this true?

Yes, but that's extremely hard to do. The LCD would almost need to be intentionally abused for that to happen.

I've seen an LCD burned in once...a full week of having one image can do it...
Don't worry about it...burn in is not a real concern on plasmas or LCDs these days

Image ghosting happens on crappy LCDs, like mine.

But ghosting is like a trail that is left behind on tv's with bad refresh rates. Image persistence is more of a burned in image that can be seen even is showing a blank screen. There is a big difference between the two.

The only thing which is "future proof" is DEATH. Did I mention, I absolutely hate the use of the term "future proof".

Right...ghosting is caused by a slow response time...has nothing to do with burn in
