Xbox and MCE2005

Hi

Have got my Xbox 360 setup with MCE2005 but having problems connecting to it. I updated all the necessary bits on the PC like rollup 2 etc and configured the Windows Firewall to allow Media Extender to run but when I load up MCE then switch the Xbox on and go to connect to Media Center it simply says 'Contacting Media Center' with a black screen then after a few minutes gives the 'Lost connection error'.

I have looked at the Media Extension manager on the PC and it says connected sometimes but the screen on the Xbox remains with the black 'Contacting' screen? I did manage once last night to connect fully and play some music but can not get it working again?

Any ideas this is driving me mad!

Are you connected wirelessly? Could try ShawdowmanUK's website xboxlivetheguide.co.uk it's really good for troubleshooting.

Thanks for the link will check it out. I am actually connecting through my router with ethernet cable. Don't use wireless except for my laptop when I need to - hate it - hard cable is much more reliable!

I've printed off a few of the guides on this site and will try and play through WMP - will have to change the format though as I have a lot fo HD movies on my PC harddrive bu tthey don't play at the minute on my xbox.
