The idea is to have it repeat, which is should do automatically depending on how the DVD is burned.
Here's a thread with a suggestion on how to go about putting the video on a disc and running it for TVs.
The guy that used to distro his .iso is doing the pay DVD distributions. And since I don't believe in pirating something so bloody simple to make, this should work.

Take the video file, drag and drop it into DVD Flick.
Next, go to "project settings" at the top and then "playback" in the menu that pops up. Change the option that says "play the next title" to "play it again".
Then on the left side of the menu go to "burning". Check "burn project to disc" and "delete iso after burning".
Drop a DVD-R into the drive, and click burn. Once it's finished burning, drop it into a DVD player and watch it to make sure it plays past 50 seconds and repeats properly. If it does, it should be just fine to run away while you're at school.
Hope it helps.

Hey, one more thing. Just noticed this, but if you go to the "video" section in the project settings it asks for your target format. If you're in the US make sure to switch it to NTSC as it tries to do PAL by default.
Hopefully I didn't make you end up with a coaster, sorry if I did.
EDIT:
The widescreen issue. Set the TV to a forced 16:9 in aspect ratio. Then, if it still doesn't do it check to see if you can force it in the DVD player settings. Lastly, if it still doesn't fill up the screen most DVD players have a "zoom" option to fill it up the rest of the way.
You definitely want to run it in 16:9 if possible, depending on the TV you have maybe even moreso.

I used my 360 with my plasma when I was doing break-in and never had an issue. If you think your 360 is on the way out though (actually already having issues) then I wouldn't try it.
Here's my question, is the TV a LCD or Plasma? If it's an LCD you have nothing to worry about it terms of burn in etc even if it's in 4:3, etc. If it's a plasma I wouldn't run it without babysitting it to some extent.
