I'm considering it as it's cheaper than buying a HDTV
BUT
I've not checked how much a bigger HD capable monitor would be yet so i'm holding fire until i price up a new monitor.

Holy shit it's $150...I suppose I expected that...but it's a complete waste of money when you have other cheaper options

What cheaper options?
I've got a monitor that only has VGA in.
and the ps3 doesnt have a VGA cable out for it.

Yeah it should...it says "# Bi-directional cable for component video to VGA or VGA to component video."
Now you'ld also need male to male couplers to connect the PS3's Component cable to that Component cable...but those should only be a couple bucks each. Something like this
