Question(s) about a DVD recorder

Hello, I just bough myself a DVD recorder because thats probably the best device to record xbox 360 gameplay.

My question is, is there anyway I can at least play/view my 360 in HD? Is there anything that allow me to do so?

Also, is there anyway I can record video and audiou on it from my PC?

Please help me

Well if you could record in HD then BluRay recorders would be completely useless now wouldn't they be?

Well I don't want to record in HD, I just want to play in HD and then let it record however it wants.

But Blue-Ray records in HD, huh?! Those shits must be expansive, like over 500 dollars?

Maybe if your TV has a video out you could run that to the DVD recorder while running Component to the TV. So you'll play in HD and it'll record in SD.

Well, my recorder has component and HDMI out, but none of those "in", do you think if it takes normal signals from my 360, the component out or HDMI might upscale it?

But upscaling isn't going to magically turn an SD picture into an HD one. The source has to be HD to start with

What I'm saying is run an HD signal to your TV and then an SD signal to your DVD Recorder. If your TV isn't HD then the whole issue is moot

My TV is HD, but if my DVD recorder is receiving SD signal from my 360, then wouldn't my TV display the same thing?
