Analog signal (VGA) vs. digital signal (HDMI to DVI-D)
I'm wondering if there's a noticeable difference between using Microsoft's VGA HD AV cable and Microsoft's HDMI cable with a HDMI to DVI-D adapter? (i have a 22" LCD monitor with a 1680x1050 resolution)
I also have a second question.. Will the 720p signal look bad (big pixels) on a 22" monitor?

1) i don't think so
2) what do you mean, "big pixels on a 22" monitor"? 720p will look perfect on a 22" monitor. (1080p will look the same on that screen).

Untill now I have only had a computer. And if I look closely, when i play in a 1280x768 resolution on my 17" screen, i can clearly see each pixel, but i really don't notice it when i am playing games. So i just wondered how it would look when you upscale the display to 22" (but I know I also have to keep in mind, that you usually sit further from the screen, when you are playing on your console)

No. 1080p will look much better than 720p on this monitor. Downscaling a big picture will always look better than upscaling a small picture. Always.

What 22" monitor are we talking about?
Every 22" screen I've ever seen has a resolution of 1680x1050.
(EDIT: Ignore the top two lines, I didn't read the first post!)
1080P doesn't fit into that last time I checked, and if you select 1080P on that monitor, you'll loose veritcal sync, and just get a power save mode.
PC monitors don't scale like LCD TV's do.
If you use the VGA cable, you can pick VGA resolutions.

On the same thought, what is the difference between VGA and DVI? Other than the connector itself and analog vs. digital signal. Like what difference, if any might be experienced by the consumer?

VGA, HDMI, DVI, and Component should all look the same. There can be slight variations across different displays, but optimally they all should look the exact same in terms of pq. Usually any difference that is seen is attributed to settings, not an actual increase or decrease in pq

I know some people have trouble with ghosting and picture sharpness, when they use VGA cables (because it converts the signal 2 times). Is that something you can experience with Microsoft's Xbox 360 VGA HD AV cable?

Question.. how they hell do you play video games on only 22"s? Hell I play on 55 and I still want a bigger one.

Does the Xbox 360 HDMI cable pack include a RCA to minijack (stereo) adapter? or do i have to buy that seperately?
