Question about HDMI Gaming
Recently picked up an HDMI Cable off eBay for a couple bucks, only to realize my 360 doesn't have an HDMI output port on the back (Its an older one a friend gave me), needless to say I was pretty rattled, but I have a couple questions about it.
Is there an adaptor I can buy to go from the A/V output port on the back to let me hook up the HDMI cable?
or
The component cable I can buy for HD (The Green, Blue, Red ones), will they still let me play in HD up to 1080p?
If the latter of those two options is the most cost effective/practicle, I will just sell the HDMI Cable to a friend to recoup my losses, but I'd like to know what you guys think. I'm not really a big time gamer, I only play sports games so I'm not to sure on all the tech stuff, lol, I'll leave that to the experts.
Thanks a lot guys.

There is a very small difference in picture quality from Component to HDMI (That i have noticed.) But not enough to affect gaming. Dont worry about it.

VGA cables hook up to those I think so anyway, but like the other 2 said VGA, HDMI, and Component really dont matter enough to spend the extra money switching them out. I use VGA for a computer monitor and it looks great but component looked fine before.

I like using HDMI to upscale my DVDs through my 360's HDDVD player (which component cables won't do), but other than that, there really is no advantage of HDMI over component (aside from less cable clutter, which in my case is a plus because the 'cable management system' in my TV stand is a pain in the ass).

Like they all said, not much difference. If you are fixed on buying an adapter, I think gamestop has them for $50 - $60.
it plugs into your componet area and lets you run an HDMI...
heres the link

The RGB cables will get you to 1080i which looks basically the same as 1080p but if you do want 1080p go for the adapter...
