it's only $99 just saying
Gamestop.com - Buy Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter - Xbox 360
but I really don't know if other wireless network adapters work.

It would be cheaper to either buy a longer ethernet cable or to buy a coupler and another ethernet cable.

well depends on how far away your cord actually has to go. because i just bought a longer one and took it through my closet wall straight to the router!

is there a cheaper one? if there was dont you think you would have found it before you asked?

no, your stuck with the Microsoft one, and like the million other people that ask the question, no you cannot bypass it or find some other way. You have to either get a hard line to it, or use the microsoft cable.

you can get the ethernet through power, but thats almost as much as the wireless adapter.

The cheapest one I'ld get is the XBOX one, not the 360 one. It works perfectly but does require an extra power outlet.
