Well, most plasma's today do not suffer any burn in. Worst case, you get image retention. Then, you simply run the whitewash feature on the set and it more or less removes the image retention. I don't sell TV's, but I keep up on the news and the technology and I know that burn-in really isn't an issue anymore.

well if you leave your 360 on for that long on a plasma screen or any screen for that matter you obviously turn off the tv/screen/monitor and therefore you wont get any burn-in. i used to use my plasma for 360 and never had any burn-in issues. i just bought a 24" samsucg lcd monitor for my pc and now i use that for my 360 cuz its convenient for me.

aint fussed about the specs, just wondering whats the best option..what would you go with if you had the choice?
A 42" plasma is awesome to game on. Get a Panasonic, you won't regret it.

What exactly does Offical TV of the NFL mean? All it takes to be the offical TV is money.

Burn in is not an issue and both plasmas and LCDs have around a 60,000 hour life span. Not to mention plasmas are available in 1080p however 1080p is a waste of money as a 720p display looks the exact same.

That's just a plain lie. Just yesterday my gf was out so I took advantage of the time and play GTA IV from 4pm till 11pm straight. Guess what, no burn in!

I've had over 12 hour gaming sessions before and I have never had image retention let alone burn in.

No offense, but I've only met a few salesmen that actually knew something about HDTVs. Almost all know nothing more than what they're trained on which is often full of myths as you have demonstrated.

same
at target they said to not get plasma, rather get a more expensive LCD (I think they were uninformed, or just wanted to make us spend more money...)

but plasmas, at least new models, don't suffer much from burn in.

Most likely they were uninformed. These retail stores don't really have much in the line of training and most of the young kids really aren't technology guru's with years of experience in the field. They are just there collecting a paycheck. As a consumer, i think you have a responsibility to know and understand this and really need to do research on your own rather than relying on retail store employees.

the panasonic plasma's are best, the px80 for budget. ($1100)

If you are really cheap then best buy sells the 42a450 samsung really cheap ($900)

If you want to pay more for less then get an lcd

just go look at them and decide
He means £500, that's $1000.

I have an LCD, and Plasma, personally I prefer my LCD, but, the choice is yours.

Just to reitterate, this is a bold faced lie.

I suggest you resign your position to somone that's better equiped to help consumers, as you only help instigate more misinformation among the masses.

You probaby also believe plasma has to be recharged, don't you
