I prefer 4:3 over 16:9
I've been using a 17" wide screen monitor for the past 18 months or so, but recently it broke down with burn in, (I bought it from eBay in the first place, maybe that is why).. anyhow, I've gone back to using my 15" 4:3 monitor... and I'm much, much more comfortable with it. I was using the wide screen monitor at 1400 x 900 pixels and I'm using this at 1024 x 768 and everything just seems much easier on the eye, and I can focus on what is on the screen, more.
Anyway, due to the delight of finding out I actually like 4:3 ratio better than 16:9, I've decided I'm going to sell my 23" HDTV for a 22" 'square' monitor... and make some money in the process. I only use the HDTV for my Xbox anyway, so the extra features that make it a Tv aren't worth it really in terms of value.
Alas, I cannot find a 4:3 monitor anywhere for a reasonable price.. surely they should be cheapish now that wide screens have took over the market?
If anyone could point my in the right direction, or thinks that they may have a monitor that I might be interested in, then please pm me or w/e, thanks.

Quite possibly could be the refresh rate, or the hertz. CRT monitors might be big and bulky, but offer the best picture.

Yes, Dan, yes I do... it's so much better from my perspective. I want a fucking 21" or 22" flat panel tft; 4:3 ratio obviously for cheap! But I don't know where to find one!

Oh wait, I think I have an antique 4:3 monitor around I could sell for double the new price.

I just think everything seems smaller with 16:9 screens and lol, no, I don't want to buy an 'antique' thanks, especially at double price..

It is smaller (vertically). Perhaps don't compare a 4:3 22" to a 16:9 22" I try to think of the size of the TV a bit differently...so that the 4:3 height is the same on the 16:9 but I get bonus landscape on sides of the 16:9. Get a slightly larger TV 16:9.
If you are hell bent on getting a 4:3 check out classifieds or ebay. Hopefully someone is trying to dump a 4:3 who may have just upgraded adn hopefully you can get the price point you are looking for.

With regards to computer monitors, I prefer 4:3 over 16:9 as well. I've just never been a big fan of the widescreen aspect ratio.
Now, when it comes to televisions....and movies....I obviously prefer 16:9.

You prefer 4:3 over 16:10
PC Monitors don't use 16:9 only HDTVs.
