Difference between 9mm/11mm headphones?

Obviously 11mm ones are bigger jacks. But, what are the advantages of having a 11mm over a 9mm? I'm using an iPod Classic, which is a 9mm jack, but, if I got a 11mm jack'ed one, and used a converter, would it be any better?

The headphones in question, are

Play.com (UK) : Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket 11mm Earbud Headphones - Red : Electronics - Free Delivery

and

Play.com (UK) : Skullcandy Full Metal Jacket 9mm Earbud Headphones - Red : Electronics - Free Delivery

I don't even know if they're decent headphones. But, my Skullcandy Smoking Buds have stopped working, so, I'll look them up etc, but, from a total outsiders point of view, would the 11mm, with an adapter, to fit my iPod, be better than the 9mm?

Thanks, Dan.

Okay, so, I've read up, and the jack is 3.5mm, so it will obviously fit in the iPod, and the 9/11mm isn't the jack at all.

What is the difference between 11mm, and 9mm?

Is it worth the extra cash?

I could be wrong, but I doubt the difference would be enough to justify spending the extra money, at least on ear buds. Form limits function some what.

I rock Grados though, haven't worn buds in years so I could be wrong.

The mm measurements refer to the actual speaker (probably technically the wrong word to use,) and my assumption would be that a larger driver/speaker would provide better sound quality. But, I'm no expert.

9mm/11 mm is for the size of the speakers in the headphones.

It's referencing the size of drivers like others said.

Personally, I'd suggest avoiding skull candy all together though. Consider pricing any set of IEMs if you're looking for a good pair of plugs. I suggest looking for a set of Ultimate Ears, Westone's, Ety's, or Shure's (in that order).

Trust me, they're much better than any simple "bud" types.
