trouble streaming music....HELP!!!!

When I rip a new (or old) cd into media player 10 I can't play them through the xbox. I can find the artist and album but when I try to play it I get a red circle with an x through it. Microsoft says it is a copyright problem but older cd's don't work either. The only music that works is music that was on the computer when I first hooked up through the network. I'd like to think I know what I'm doing on a computer but apparently I don't. PLEASE HELP!

Sounds like you may be ripping the songs with copy protection. In WMP go to Tools, Options, and Rip Music and see whether there's a tick beside "copy protect music". If there is, take it off. You'll have to delete the copy protected music and rip them again from the CD
