Someone has just told me about an app for the iPhone/iPod called 'AirShare'??
Has anyone used it?? Apparently it maps a drive wirelessly to your PC so that you can transfer files etc across to the iPod, like a USB drive....
Its free for the first 2 weeks, and $6.99 thereafter - not sure if the two weeks are over yet though......
Glad I went for the 32GB now

Don't pay for anything like that. You should have enough technical nous to set up an SSH server on your iPod and use a client to copy the files to and from your iPod for free!
Grab the server app from Cydia or Installer and then grab any SSH client, either command-based or with a GUI and connect to it via Wifi.

If you keep the iPod vertical, coverflow is off anyway. You only get coverflow when the iPod is horizontal.

I have an 8gb 3G iPhone and I haven't even looked at apps for it yet (apart from the phone saber and virtual beer thing).
Any must have apps out there?
Also, any FREE MP4 to h.264 converters? I've d/l a few programs that allow a free trial (thought I could convert them all quickly), but they all write 'EVALUATION VERSION' across the middle of the screen, which is kind of gay.

Cydia: Based on apt in Linux. Basically Cydia launches the linux apt-get install command and grabs the program from the repository and installs it for you.
Installer: Same concept but made by a different bunch of people. It uses it's own protocol and commands and has different format repositories. This used to be the most popular installer until firmware 2.0. But Installer 4.0 is due soon (or already out, can't remember) and it looks identical to the Apple app store, so it's bound to be popular again.
So for an end user, there isn't much difference at all. They grab the app and they install it. Some developers only have Cydia repos, others have only Installer repos, but I think most now host a repo for each one with the same content in each.
