How does Fifa 08 work?

Ok, its a football game and its about two teams playing against each other to win a match.. but how does the whole game work and how do you win it?

What is the main mode in the game? Do you just play through a league as a selected team and try to get first prize?

Do you select a real already formed team like Man. u, or do you create your own brand new team, choose your players and work your way up?

What happens if you lose a league game, are you out and have to play the whole tornament again or can you just keep replaying it until you win?

If i choose a small town football team which happens to be my favoret and enter a tournament against other teams that are much better than me, eg Man United, realistically there is no way for me to win the FA cup, is this the same in fifa 08, how would you play in this situation?

You can play through a vast amount of leagues on the game, and try to win the league in one season.

There is also a career mode, which allows you to pick a club from any one country and play 15 seasons (I think) with this club, either working a really rubbish club to the top by buying players etc or starting as a top club.

It is a good game, but not that addictive and the seasons can take a while to complete.

EDIT: Winning leagues gives you achievements.

i think im either going to get fifa 08 or NHL08. I preffer ice hockey as a sport, but I find football games more fun to play as I like the slower pased passing aspect of the game. Im also thinking about RS:V2 but i already have lots of FPS games and RS:v1

So you dont think to highly of fifa 08 then?

[update: just downloaded the demo from xbox live. It seems good but Im yet to score a goal lol.

I find this game very addictive in xbl.

I don't like career mode I just played one season :].
So If you're planning in playin career I suggest nhl, but it's just my opinion cuz in career I would prefer faster games. : )
