XBOX 360 Player Update

Ok just updated from Fifa 07 to Fifa 08

I signed on last night to Xbox Live... and the Player/Squad Updates was unavailable meaning I was unable to play online

1> IS THIS COMMON
2> Should i Try again or is there somethin wrong
3> do i need to download the old one before the new one ??
