Is "Next-Gen" FIFA better than "Next-Gen" Pro Evo?

I've been a (Playstation) Pro Evo player for years, I've recently defected to XBOX360 (Tuesday).
Much like I have with Gran Turismo, I've grown bored and frustrated with Pro Evo too.

Is FIFA2008 worth the switch?
I'm switching from GT to Forza as I'm well informed and reassured that it will be a worthwhile move. Is the Pro Evo >> FIFA move just as sensible?

Your thoughts appreciated.

Thank you.

Rikki.

The only thing that puts me off is this:

In Pro Evo (despite all it's flaws) every player was different, they all "felt" different and as such you could genuinely play to each players' strengths.
Whereas in FIFA all players feel generic and "samey" and only the really good players stood out (Messi, Ronaldo etc)....

How do the "Next-Gen" players fare? (I've only played FIFA08 on PS2 so far)

PS - I'd much rather play a match at Anfield than the, erm, "Haupstadtstadion" (Eh?)

Fifa this time around is king. And it does seem as though PES is starting to lose it's fans in most places.

This time around Fifa really has gotten just about everything right.

Sounds good.
Yeah I've heard that Konami have failed to move Pro Evo on with the times and it's starting to feel tired and old.
EA aren't afraid to rip a game up and rebuild it, so it always feels fresh and new.
Besides, I'm reliably informed that the Atmosphere on FIFA is outstanding.

Pro Evo is crap this year. When I first played it, I couldn't believe how crap it was. I haven't played new gen FIFA yet but even old gen FIFA is better than next gen PES.

I've been having a look at the FIFA2008 videos on Youtube.
To be honest it looks utterly gorgeous and I'm dying to get it.
But considering I've just spent more money on Forza2, I'm going to leave it till 2009 comes out because, though it's hard to imagine, it's only getting better.
The footy season is over now anyway so I'm sensible waiting for the next one.

But my footy-fingers are itchy...

1st Impressions of the game.

I bought FIFA2008 today.
I traded in my old PS2 and a couple of games for it, and it's a sign of the times when that little lot didn't even cover the cost of a Next-Gen game!

Anyway, I settled down to play my first match and being the big girls blouse that I am, I picked Liverpool and played against Derby on "Semi-Pro" difficulty.

After 24mins they were 2-0 up!! and I quit, thinking "Maybe I'll read the manual"...

A few matches under my belt now against awesome opposition (Beat Barnsley 4-2, Osasuna 1-0 and RC Lens 3-0!) God, I suck.

I am loving the game, loving every minute of it but my Pro Evo skills are worthless here and I'm starting to learn football from scratch again.
The Atmosphere at Anfield is brilliant (streets ahead of Pro Evo's "Red Cauldron"), the commentary is exemplary and I even heard the stadium announcer report on a lost child!... Nice touch EA.

There's no way I'll be playing online any time soon, I don't want to kick my TV off the stand just yet.

Brilliant game.
