Through-balls + Player movement = Frustration.

Is there a way to gain full control of a player after you play a through-ball?
My problem is playing the pass and I can clearly see my player isn't going to "get there" because of the angle of his run, but if I could only move him freely I could take the ball and out-manoeuvre the Defender/Goalkeeper and finish the chance, or at least have a shot.
But he just carries on running as if he is on rails, guided by an invisible force which lets the ball run harmlessly into the 'keepers hands.

Have I missed a trick, or do I just have to accept it?

This annoys me tons aswell. I used to be a Pro Evo player, and one of the best features was the super cancel which would let you take full control of a player,

however I don't think this exists for Fifa

Ive found that players normally run onto lobbed through balls better than ordinary ones.

Doesn't matter anyway as I've switched back to Pro Evo.
I'm glad I did too.
The super cancel works a treat for said incidents.

If only I could "Super cancel" the bloody AI scripting....
