I used the Bugatti, with TCS off, and in Manual, and I finally done it!
Got just over 106k I think - on my third lap.
The track I chose was the one that starts Fuji somet or other!
You have to get high points on every corner. If you go round a corner and get only a few points, rewind it and try again lol

High points? I read somewhere that 1,000 per corner on the Fujitsu Circuit is enough? What does taking the TCS off actually do? And can you actually keep rewinding if you don't do it, I thought there would be a certain amount of times you could use it?

Sorry, by high points I did mean around 800-1000 and above.
TCS is the Traction Control System. With it off you need to take control of the car better as the car wont correct any minor mistakes and you can spin out easier.
Yes, you can rewind as much as you like.
Just play naturally, and after a couple of laps you'll start getting more confident, and have a better feel of how much you have to us ethe E brake etc for a decent drift - thats when you'll get it.

Just got it Ifti cheers. It worked what you said with the Bugatti. Took me a couple of hours like, but I finally managed it. I was getting 90-94 all the time then on my winning lap (102,628) I got a drift in the middle of the course of 8,000 so that eventually helped me over the 100K mark.
For 5G that seemed like a hell of a lot of work
At least now though I can concentrate on all the story mode achievements etc

Gonna have to try for the drift lap soon, me thinks. I was online last night and managed to get a couple of corners with over 8k.
Using the wheel with the A button for clutch makes it fairly easy to drift. Handbreak and clutch at the same time to take the drive away from the rear wheels, lock them up and put it in a slide, release the handbreak, get the revs up and drop the clutch. Because the A and B buttons are all that's used, it's hell easy to just use your thumb across both buttons and roll it off the handbreak once the rear end steps out.

The only achieveemnts I have left now are:
The one where you have to buy a car from each manufacturer (I just need to buy a McLaren, Pagani, and a Shelby).
The remaining achievements are connected to the season mode - Im at driver level 35 now, so need to get to 50, and I have the last 3 seasons to do.
Im winning all races coming 1st, so once I finish the season mode I should have the full 1000 points

You'll get the 'world travellor' achievement by just going through the season mode as well

If you want a good drift car, get the Corvette ZR1. It's an animal.
