in real life i agree.... nothing worse than waiting for a turbo to spool up while the V8 in front of you pulls away. do you notice lag in this game??

Some cars do have turbo lag, so just change the gear ratios so you get up in the revs quicker.

Torque is NOT everything, it is a combination of things from handling, power and torque etc and as it has already been stated this all comes down to the design of the track, gradients etc.
