Worth It?
Hey, I think it may be time for me to get this after I've heard all the hype. I have money, but I am spending a shit load on a new airsoft loadout (Don't ask). I love the NFS games, and I played the demo of this and it was ok. What's so good about it though? Is it anything like NFS?

Absolutely NOT.
Forza is a driving simulator. There are no shortcuts, crashes are the worst thing that you can possibly do and you run laps over and over again on track after track.

The only thing which is "future proof" is DEATH. Did I mention, I absolutely hate the use of the term "future proof".

God no this is not like NFS. Don't even think of comparing the two.
Like pparks1 said this is a RACING SIMULATOR. He said driving though, but it is a RACING SIMULATOR. Have you ever played the Gran Turismo series on Playsation? If so it is like that.
Get this game it is great. I loved Gran Turismo and this just brought back the excitement.

It's definitely a hardcore sim, but it's still very fun gameplay. I'm not really into cars (even after years of working at my dad's car shop with him trying to turn me onto them), but Forza just has this Pokemon-esque gotta catch 'em all vibe going for it. Tons of cars, loads of parts to upgrade and tune, and an incredibly deep painting tool. Seriously, you can race around in this game if you like, but just the painting tools (check out some great jobs by other Forza players) and car customization abilities are worth the price of admission alone.
I'm primarily a shooter player, but the first time I popped in Forza I didn't look away for 3 hours. I was definitely hooked, even though it's a genre I'm a bit iffy on. Try the demo anyway, but remember it really has none of the real selling points of the final product, and is just showing off the driving mechanic.
Anyway, I think renting first would be best for you.

Very addictive yes indeed. I looked at my total gameplay time and it is just shy of 20hours. Which is crazy in my mind. I got this game last Wednesday the 30th and now a week later I am closing in on 20 hours of total gameplay and also have 60% of the game completed so far.

The driving in the demo is actually fun, and I love getting new cars and tuning them up, that's what I meant when I said is it like NFS. I wasn't too clear I guess, I think I'll buy it.
