play often, thats the only tip you can really get, the wheel needs quite some getting used to, many people find i a lot harder if your a hardened controller gamer, others find it easier, you'll either learn to love it or end up hating it.

Are you sick of kids on Forza, racing round the wrong way?
Do you dream of a proper challange with decent guys?

let us know how you get on.
to be fair, if its on your lap then you lose resistance i should imagine, just bust out a table, or even just a big board should be better.

thats actually a nice set up, never thought about that. i have a nice chair that feels like a racing seat & its fine on my lap.
the best & biggest tip i can give you is to use the in-car view. outside the car is very dificult to control.
also, you need to learn to let the wheel jerk around sometimes. keep it in the same spot, but just let it vibrate & stay off the gas & the car will stay on the line its going.
i love the wheel, i think its alot easier to use than the controller because you can keep a constant line. with the controller, i feel like im tapping the analog alot & the car isnt as stable.

I know exactly what you're saying... it's very hard to get the analog stick into the exact position to hold a line, I find myself tapping it too, the "click click click" annoys the wife

yeah, its pure physics. you have around 1 cm of play from center to left or right. so if you want to hold a steady line, you have to keep that within a MM or so to keep the line.
the steering wheel is a good 10 inches in diameter, so you have around 5 inches from center to left or right....which means you have to keep the wheel within a 1in area to keep the same line.
