Braking/Accelerating help needed
Hello, first post so nice to meet you all etc!
I'm hoping somebody can tell me how to adjust the accelerator and brakes settings on the game, i use A to throttle and X to brake (triggers for gears), but there isn't any touch sensitivity there. The brakes are locking up at the slightest touch.
I've set the default to button in the Xbox 360 dashboard but still its all or nothing
can anyone help please?

Hi Mate, I don't honestly think it can be done, I am sure there are more experienced people here than me that may know of a way, but to the best of my knowledge it can't

If the brakes are locking up at the slightest touch then you havent got abs on right?
If you prefer it off and want them to stop them locking then go into tuning and turn the braking pressure down. Be warned though, it will take longer to stop.
IMO use triggers, much more accurate as you can apply 50% throttle out of corners etc.

aah - thanks, so am i right in thinking that the buttons are not touch sensitive?
I've only just got my 360 and I'm sure on the original Forza on the first Xbox they were touch sensitive.

I dont know about them being touch sensitive as i only use triggers, but triggers are a lot more accurate.

yeah, thanks for the tip meatball. I did try that but it's really hard changing coordination after 10 years of changin gears with my fingers and controlling speed with my thumbs!

or you could do what I do and stamp the accelerator with opposite lock and drift round the corner!! lol
Joking aside, I was under the impression the first xbox buttons were pressure sensitive, I just presumed the 360's were the same. I use the buttons for accelerate / brake and the triggers for changing up and down.
I see meatballs point though, you could apply 50% acceleration out of a corner to stop you spinning, especially with powerful rear wheel drive cars.
I raced with my Monaro VXR, 608bhp, almost impossible to power out of a corner without spinning out using the buttons. Could be better using the trigger as you progressivly accelerate.
With regards to your braking, try altering the settings and make sure you switch ABS on, you will still skid, but it wont be half as much as if you didnt have it on. With the ABS you get a more controlled braking, instead of erratic sliding all over the place!
Hope that helps

im with meatballs, triggers allow you to left foot brake etc, you can hold the power flat out on corners while applying a touch of brake to help the car make the corner and then as soon as you release the brake on the exit of the corners you get tremendous acceleration because youve had your right finger on the throttle trigger....
I dont use ABS, i prefer the brakes to lock, it gives you more feel and is more realistic as race cars dont have ABS.

I agree Mike, over the years of PS2 and Xbox racing I've perfected the art of left foot braking even using the thumb buttons. I've always used buttons to control speed and triggers to change gear - always. I'm surprised and a little pissed off that the 360 does not have pressure sensitive buttons, they feel springy but they appear to be just on/off switches!
I'm practising loads re learning how to cyber drive using triggers to throttle and brake but it's incredibly hard and frustrating telling my fingers and thumbs to swap jobs.

Wow you guys are crazy! Why would anyone use the buttons for accel/deccel? Much more control with the triggers, and I don't think the buttons are pressure sensitive like on the PS2.
when I used to play gran turismo all the time, I'd use the buttons to accel and the L2/R2 to shift, because I had more control with the pressure sensitive buttons, but xbox360 is not this way!
